ABSTRACT
The contributions to clinical theory included in the proposal
of Dr. Juan Luis Linares in the areas of personality, emotional
nutrition and psychopathology are discussed in the present
article. His proposal, based on the extended clinical experience
of its creator and firmly based on family systems theory,
deserves recognition by the fact of conceptualizing clinical
issues traditionally seen from an individual perspective from
a truly relational point of view. Linares’ proposal is discussed
at the light of other compatible theories such as those of
Kelly’s personal constructs and Ugazio’s semantic polarities.
