ABSTRACT
Anxiety disorders are the most frequent psychiatric disturbances
throughout our lives, are mainly characterized
by excessive fear of situations that pose no real danger.
These conditions are resource health and are a risk
factor for cardiovascular disease. The neurobiological basis
of anxiety disorders is in the alterations of brain circuitry
of fear. This circuit is the most studied since Pavlov,
now with brain imaging fMRI and PET.
