ABSTRACT
The inflammatory and calcified pathologies of the soft parts are dysfunctions with
important economic and social repercussion and a high degree of functional of
disability in the biggest adult and inside them one of the most frequent is the
presence of calcified tendinitis of the supraspinatus. The case of the first patient is presented with calcified tendinitis of the supraspinatusthat he/she received
treatment with shock waves in the National Center of Rehabilitation Julio Diaz. After
being evaluated a treatment program it was applied with the shock waves of 5
sessions, once for week and cryotherapy up to 72 h after each session. It was
evaluated the patient to the beginning, six weeks and to the three months and
clinical and functional improvement was observed, as well as the total resorption of
the calcification of the supraspinatus, what demonstrated the effectiveness of this
treatment in this pathology.
