ABSTRACT
Background. The high flow AVMs have a low prevalence in our country. Its clinical presentation varies from asymptomatic patients to disabling injuries that threatening life.Objective. To present the case of a patient with high-flow arteriovenous malformation in the upper right arm subjected to transhumeral amputation.
Case report. Male patient with a history of arteriovenous malformation that exacerbated in adolescence with increased volume in upper right arm secondary to blunt trauma.
Conclusion. The first option treatment for high-flow arteriovenous malformations upper extremity is endovascular, surgery should be reserved for management of recurrence and complications.
