ABSTRACT
Background. The adventitital cyst is a non-atherosclerotic peripheral arterial disease, characterized by the accumulation of mucinous substance in the adventitia of the vessel. It corresponds to 0.1% of the total of vascular diseases, and of these 85% occurs in the popliteal artery. The pathogeny is unclear, and there are multiple theories: traumatic, systemic, ganglionar and development. The treatment of choice is the decompression of the cyst while preserving the affected vessel, excising only when an occlusion of the vessel exists.Objective. To present a case of adventitial cyst located in an arteriovenous fistula.
Case report. Male, 50 years of age, with chronic kidney disease in hemodyalisis, with autologous humeromedian arteriovenous fistula, presents with a pulseless, painless tumor in right antecubital region.
