ABSTRACT
Goal: To characterize the distribution of the workforce of the National School of Public Health (ENSAP) by sex and gender providing a gender sensitive look over the workforce. Results provide a basis for characterization of gender gaps in the management that is done at the institutional level. Method: A descriptive cross-sectional study that included the total labor force at the ENSAP in 2014. A purposive sampling approach was used to collect qualitative information relevant to the analysis of quantitative data. The distribution of the workforce was studied by areas taken into account sex and analyzed from a gender perspective. The issues used were: lost in work days and lost wage, excused absences and unpaid licenses. Results and conclusions: ENSAP workforce is feminized and differences relating to the gender distribution were important in the areas of teaching and support. Inequalities between men and women were found taken into account the issues considered. The different reflect the cultural patterns of the patriarchal culture of Cuban society. In terms of gender sensitive perspective the management of the workforce has reserves of improvement.REFERENCES
