A tool for assessing the level of knowledge about patient's safety in undergraduate students

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Whose define safety health patient like an absence of unnecessary injury, real or potential associate to sanitary attention. Aranáz and cols considered to unsafely health patient like an silence epidemic because this is e frequently problem, with growing tendency, grave in potency, preventive, with a big economic, sanitary and social impact, who worried to professionals, sanitary organizations, institutions and citizen.Objective: To adapt and validate a questionary to explore knowledge level about safety health patient in undergraduate medicine students.
Methods: It was making and investigation and development study of measurement instrument. It was working with two groups of last year undergraduate medicine students for the validation; it was accomplice with and ethic principle for data confidence. The process was making in three periods and their used SPSS 21 statistic program to do multifactorial analysis and frequency distributions estimate.
Results: It was remove 13 items of 26 at the beginners. Their applications delayed between 10 and 15 minutes and the questions who more variability offered in their answer were 10 and 13. It was making the instrument measurement scale, in which the mean value of right answers is above 66 percentile, it was considered High knowledge level.
Conclusion: Like a first approximation to problem, the instrument result workable and useful to be used between medicine students.
