Cavernous portal pediatrics: case report

ABSTRACT
Cavernous portal is a rare condition caused by thrombosis of the portal vein, which are cause of portal hypertension. It has been linked with the completion of umbilical catheterization in neonatal stage, abdominal trauma and infections of neonatal period. The clinical case of a child described with developmental delay and malnutrition with symptoms of upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
