ABSTRACT

A 62-year-old patient showing ulcerative dermatosis on face, trunk and upper limbs associated with nonproductive cough and weight loss is presented. During hospitalization, disseminated nocardiosis and AIDS were diagnosed for the patient, who was unaware of these conditions. Nocardiosis is a rare disease suffered by HIV infected patients, which is usually underdiagnosed due to its polymorphic and specific-less clinical manifestations. It should be considered to establish a nocardiosis diagnose in immunocompromised patients with a CD4+ cell count lower than 10 cells/uL.
