Analysis of the increase in the donation of organs and tissues in the State of Mexico in the period from January 2003 to December 2013

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Internationally, the big problem is the shortage of transplant organs. Spain has positioned itself as a global leader in the field of organ donation and transplant. In Mexico a rate of 3.6 donors were registered p.m.p. Mexico has 20,197 people requiring a transplant, the greatest demand is the kidney with 12,251 people registered; followed by the cornea with a total of 7,480. Material and methods: The databases of the State Transplant Center of the State of Mexico and the Information System of the National Transplant Registry (SiRNT) is performed a retrospective study. The obtained variables were: number of identified donations, organs, and tissues procured obtained during the period of January 1, 2003 to December 31, 2013. Results: During this period in the State of Mexico, 2,000 organ donations and/or tissues in different establishments with active license on donation were recorded; in the year 2010 The State of Mexico obtained first place at the national level in the field of donation by registering a total of 301 donations, i.e. the 26.42% of the total donation. The State of Mexico represented 31.78% of the total donations in 2013. Conclusions: The State of Mexico has been placed in the first place nationally with more grants, benefiting not only the people of this state, but from around the country.REFERENCES
