ABSTRACT
Acute spinal cord injuries
are one of the most studied
topics actually, the discapacity
generated in patiens has coursed
investigations to find a definite
cure still hasn’t found. Despite
of this, new guidelines have
been improving in acute spinal
trauma, the pathophysiology
of these patients has been
clarified and new methods of
classification are established
for an optimal and appropriate
management according to
each patient. Currently exist
rehabilitation programs where
the individual rejoins society,
and are helped to perform their
daily activities and improve
their quality of life. Diagnostic
methods are improving and
now new methods are been
incorporated for assesment
in the severity of the injury.
This review explains about
the generalities of the subject,
current forms of diagnosis and
management, among others.
