ABSTRACT
Emphasize the importance of the
use of ultrasound as the method
of choice for the evaluation and
control of adnexal masses. This
has become an essential tool to
guide diagnosis, treatment and
prognosis. Thanks to being a
non-invasive procedure, plus its
high sensibility and specificity,
ultrasound has become the
most used method, since it is
able to define, characterize
and determine the therapeutic
management of adnexal masses.
The ability to detect lesions
early stage thus improves
prognosis, in addition to the
method accessibility to much of
the patients has enabled using
ultrasound as a routine method,
with clear benefits to the
population. This research is a
review of the ultrasonographic
features to the pelvic findings
and their importance to the
therapeutic approach.
