ABSTRACT
It is not only a costly and
complex but more common
condition than we think;
traumatic stress disorder affects
millions of people worldwide,
is commonly believed to effect
the experiences of military
personnel exposed to war but
can affect anyone; abused
children, women and girls for
sexual violence, communities
living constantly violence,
survivors of natural disasters,
tragic and fatal accidents,
political violence all they
can experience this disorder
which is chronic and has a
significant social and individual
impact. The diagnosis requires
the presence of specific groups
of symptoms in response to
a traumatic event; intrusion
and avoidance symptoms,
alterations in arousal and
reactivity, negative changes
in cognition and mood.
Psychotherapy is the best
approach we have sought
treatment for adults and
children.
