ABSTRACT
Lung cancer is the most common tumor of the respiratory tract and the one casing more deaths. One of the most important objectives in its treatment is stage characterization, for which analyzing mediastinal lymph nodes is paramount to define patients who can receive surgery. For the nodal invasive study, transcervical lymphadenectomy occupies an important place, when there is evidence of lymph node involvement in the upper area as an initial diagnostic and therapeutic method in patients who, after inducted chemotherapy and stage characterization, are candidates for resection. This work is presented with the aim to present to the surgical community the transcervical lymphadenectomy used by the group of thoracic surgery for diagnosis and treatment of non-small cell lung carcinoma at the Manuel Ascunce Domenech University Provincial Hospital of Camagüey.REFERENCES
