ABSTRACT
The segmental neurofibromatosis is a rare clinical finding, usually with a negative family history. We present a case of a 55-year-old male patient with cutaneous and subcutaneous neurofibromas arranged in a strip in the right thoracolumbar region, characterizing the segmental form of the neurofibromatosis. The aims are to discuss the importance of early recognition of the disease and genetic counseling. We emphasize the need for continuous medical and multidisciplinary monitoring.
