ABSTRACT
Introduction: We studied the neuropsychological disorders in multiple sclerosis patients (MS), using the Luria school tests.
Methods: 20 patients with relapsing–remitting clinical form were studied, in two groups according discapacity expanded scale (EDDS). In all the patients we practiced neurologycal test, hand and graphic praxis test and memory test MRI. Multimodal evoked potentials and cerebrospinal fluid studies were practiced at all the patients, at the begining of this work.
Results: 80% of the patients had periventricular desmielinization images in MRI study. 55% of the patients had disorders in the first praxis test and 85% in the last test, with statistical differences, in the most discapacity group. 60% of the patients had disorders in memory test in the first study and 80% in the final study. The 16 patients that present periventricular desmielinization images, had more disorders in memory test.
Conclusions: Most of the neuropsychological disorders were found in the patients with more discapacity in the final study. It’s possible that the neuro-psychological disorders had relation with the disfunction of the first functional brain unity.
