ABSTRACT
Language disorders are part of the clinical features of patients with Parkinsion’s disease. These disorders go from those that are almost not perceptible to those that totally hinder oral communication We submit to your attention an alternative for language prevention in those cases that present slight alterations with the objective of training patients since the very first symptomatologic stages regarding language. Fifty patients with Idiopathic Parkinson’s Disease took part during one year in this experience, for a 28 day cycle 6 times a week. In the sample no regularities as far as sex, age or evolution of the illness were fount. We started with a logopedic examination to decide on the best approach for the 65 patients of our sample. We then selected those who best fitted the group alternative we are proposing. Once the strategy was applied the patients had the possibility not only of becoming aware of their difficulties but to face the possible language disorders during the development of the illness. We then can say that this style of therapy supports an open exchange between patients and specialists, in which not only topics regarding language are discussed but all daily life activities of the patients are taken care of, wich in the long run will translate into a better quality of life for them.REFERENCES
