ABSTRACT

Paraneoplastic syndromes are clinical syndromes caused by tumors non related with the tumor itself. Its incidence is underestimated. We present an example of a case with paraneoplastic syndrome, indicating the characteristics these syndromes must follow to be considered as such; a 72 year old woman with a skin disorder diagnosed as acantosis before the diagnosis of a colorectal cancer were made. These tumors are the digestive neoplasm’s more frequently associated to Acantosis. The relation between pyoderma as a paraneoplastic syndrome of colorectal cancer is well established.
