ABSTRACT

The mucinous carcinoma of the breast is a rare histological type of breast cancer and it represents a 1 to 7% of all invasive tumors of the breast, this subtype has some characteristics that differ from the infiltrating ductal carcinoma, it has less lymph node invasión, more favorable histological grade and more expression of estrogen and progesterone receptors. Usually it occurs in women with average age of 62 years old and it has a better prognosis.
