ABSTRACT
Introduction: Bladder cancer represents the second most frequent and common
tumor in the genital tract. Adenocarcinomas are between 0.5 to 2% of bladder
tumors. From a Histological point of view, adenocarcinomas are mucosecernent and
may have glandular, colloids or signet-ring cells patterns. Despite progress in the
treatment of the bladder carcinoma, rare tumors such as bladder adenocarcinoma,
have no standardized treatment and disease control.
Objective: To present a case of a patient with a primary bladder adenocarcinoma of
signet-ring cells, a very rare disease with a very bad prognosis.
Case presentation: Is presented a case of a patient of 60 year old with a history of
hypertension, having a primary adenocarcinoma of signet-ring cells treated by a
multidisciplinary team; surgically operated with a favorable evolution. An updated
review of the disease is made.
Conclusions: An unfrequent case in the clinical practice is presented. One patient
surgically operated of a signet-ring cells bladder adenocarcinoma that favorably
evolved. Disease treatment is not standardized and multidisciplinary intervention of
these patients is the best medical treatment option. Any other report of a treated
case in Cuba was found.
