Professorial evaluation at 'Hermanos Ameijeiras' Postgraduate Center two years after applying an intervention project

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the application of an operational intervention Project started in the academic year 2013-2014 to improve the quality of the professorial evaluation process at "Hermanos Ameijeiras" Postgraduate Center had encouraging outcomes in its first year of application. The analysis of the outcomes indicators’ behavior two years after the start of this project will permit to at assure mid and long terms the achievements attained, as well and to correct the strategies to be implemented.Method: a documental analysis was carried out of the professorial evaluation reports, by comparing the academic year 2012-2013 results with those obtained after the application of these projects in the academic years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
Results: the percentage of evaluation of Excellent remains close to 30%, but they are still present in the headings and there is not yet an adequate correspondence between the number of publications and researches and the evaluation granted in scientific-technologic work. There is neither concordance between the evaluation granted in professional self-improvement and the number of docents promoted to the degrees of philosophy doctors and second degree specialists.
Conclusions: although the professorial evaluation results obtained two years after the application of the operational intervention project are in correspondence with the expected goals, there are still qualitative deficiencies that may improve with demanding, the docents training and better control if the individual improvement plans by the evaluators.
