ABSTRACT

On 10 October 1868 in the eastern region began the war for independence of Cuba. In the central region further action to that uprising, the same happened in the territory now occupied by the province of Villa Clara were developed. Students and professionals in medical sciences from the center of Cuba; They had an outstanding participation in the struggle for independence against Spanish colonialism where some degree being obtained important military colonels or generals. There are in Villa Clara important architectural works, streets, schools and monuments honoring the names of these patriots. The story of their lives represents an example and a valuable study material for teachers and students of medical sciences.
