ABSTRACT
The ganglioglioma, a term that was mint by Courville in 1930 as a transitial neoplasia between glial and not glial cells, has ganglionar cells well differenciated mixed with glial stroma and with astrocites and oligoden-drocites. They are not frecuent and their presentation is in children and young adults with temporal, frontal and parietal localizations. In general the ganglioglioma is considerated as a good prognosis neoplasia with its anaplasic transformation is uncommon. This is the infant variety (desmoplasic) with a poor prognosis. We presented a 10 year old male patient with radiologic diagnostic of the cavernous angioma localized on the left temporal lobe; he had 2 surgeries, the first with a histopatologic cavernous angioma report, and the final with a ganglioglioma report, in this paper we made a review of the literature and a discussion on the prognostic factors.
