ABSTRACT
The spleen is the largest lymphoid organ in the body. It is an intraperitoneal
organ which, due to its anatomical location, in the thoracoabdominal
junction, is difficult to access with methods of clinical exploration.
Image diagnostic methods: ultrasound, computed tomography, and
magnetic resonance, provide an adequate evaluation of the spleen,
including anatomical and pathological information. The purpose of this
review is to recreate and exemplify, by means of a pictorial representation,
findings in splenic pathology using radiological and sectional
image studios.
