ABSTRACT
Uterine fibroid occurs between 25 and 50% of women over 30 years, and its main
clinical manifestations are pelvic pain and vaginal bleeding. Diagnosis is based on
clinical examination and confirmed with imaging methods. Traditional treatments are
hormone therapy, surgery, and, in recent years, minimal access surgery. The aim of
this paper is to report the benefits of the use of embolotherapy for uterine artery as a
therapeutic alternative for the treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids, according to
references by various authors.
