ABSTRACT
Henoch-Schônlein purpura is an IgA deposit induced vasculitis. It was first described in 1802 by William Heberden.
Classic clinical manifestations include purpuric lesions, polyarthritis, abdominal pain and renal impairment. Its
presentation during pregnancy is rarely described in universal literature, which is why we report the case of a pregnant
patient presenting with generalized Henoch-Schônlein purpura as well as mesangial IgA glomerulonephritis. The
patient had an adequate response to steroid based treatment, even though there is few evidenced reports of its
manifestations during pregnancy and the best treatment in proliferative mesangial glomerulonephritis
