ABSTRACT
We present our experience obtained in 50 procedures during 24 months, from January 1999 to December 2001, using a retrospective evaluation. We practice 50 laparoscopic procedures in child from 0 to 17 years; they were 3 cholecystectomy, 3 appendectomy, 12 antirreflux procedures, 4 diagnostic laparoscopy (1 biliary tract atresia, 2 genitourinary malformations, 1 intraabdominal criptorquidia), 10 orquidopexies and 18 varicocelectomy. 47 procedures were electives and 3 Urgency, only report 2 minor complications: pneumonia and conversion for technical problems. These reports confirm the efficacy and security of this procedure in childs, the benefits of laparoscopic procedures in the pediatric patients compares with the adult. In our experience is a safety procedure with a very low morbidity. The efficacy, precision and safety of laparoscopic surgery in pediatrics will increase with the introduction of technological innovations and with the clinical experience development.
