ABSTRACT
Acanthosis nigricans is characterized by skin thickening and velvety hyperpigmentation predominantly in intertriginous surfaces. Most cases of childhood is associated with obesity due to insulin resistance; and the generalized presentation is extremely rare. In this report, the authors describe a rare case of generalized hereditary benign acanthosis nigricans 4 year old boy, with diffuse hyperpigmentation and velvety thickening of skin 3 years ago. Extensive clinical, laboratory and imaging was performed with no evidence of underlying pathology up to now.
