Direct and indirect costs of diagnosis and treatment in patients with leprosy

ABSTRACT
A descriptive study of 32 patients with diagnosis of leprosy in Santiago de Cuba was carried out during 2013, to show the incidence of this disease, as well as to describe the pertinent direct and indirect costs for the diagnosis and treatment of those affected. In the case material the group of 46 years and more (78.5%) and the multibacilar clinical type (96.8%) prevailed; it was also found that the cost of this last one was higher, estimated in $16385, 53 (Cuban pesos).REFERENCES
