An educational intervention on sexually transmitted infections at «Zeneido Costa Llerena» School in Corralillo, Villa Clara

ABSTRACT
For 25 years now, the number of people suffering from sexually transmitted infections has been increasing around the world. In Cuba, people aged 15-19 years are the second most affected group by these types of infections. The author of his study considers of great importance to guide and educate adolescents on how these diseases can be avoided; for this purpose, an educative intervention with a “before and after design " was made in ninth- grade students from «Zeneido Costa Llerena» Secondary School in Corralillo municipality during 2013- 2014. The 84.5 % had inadequate information before the intervention; and after this, the 95.4 % had the necessary knowledge acquisition.REFERENCES
