ABSTRACT
This article summarizes the recommendations issued by the agencies and national and international health authorities with regard to the recent outbreaks of the virus Zika, currently present in more than 31 countries and territories, mainly from central and South America. In October 2015 the first indigenous case of infection was identified by virus Zika in Mexico and in the absence of a vaccine or specific treatment, the promotion of health is essential for risk communication and community mobilization, especially against the vector. The morbidity and mortality of the disease up to now known and recommended for its prevention actions, arising from actions by authorities and bodies in cases like this, of emerging viral diseases, are fundamental to contribute to timely detection and reduced irrigation resulting in a threat to the entire population and certainly one threat to patients with chronic diseases, because it should be considered that in little-known ailments and complications, infections can be more aggressive. More even when studied neurological associations such as microcephaly and Guillain-Barré Syndrome. It should be extra alert in the presence of other viral infections present in Mexico, Chikungunya fever, Dengue and hemorrhagic Dengue fever, transmitted by mosquitoes.
