ABSTRACT
Prognosis is a prediction of the course the disease will likely follow. The strategic value of a tooth is a common approach in prosthetic planning. Traditional systems for assigning prognosis are based on bone loss and may have a limited use for patient management. The determining prognosis includes future prediction, so this can be seen from different perspectives. The clinical may use different systems for prognosis assessment and make decisions for the planning and management of the patient. Prognosis supports the periodontal clinical’s decision making, it also improves oral health, reduces the need for complex therapy and health care costs.
