Psychosocial factors that favor the onset of alcohol use among adolescents

ABSTRACT
It was performed a descriptive study with the objective to determine the psychosocial factors that favor the onset of alcohol use in adolescents of the Pre University School Batalla de Jigue at Bartolome Maso Marquez municipality in the period of September 2013 to May 2014. The universe was constituted by 206 students. The sample was formed by 68 adolescents selected at random. For the information it was applied the self- esteem Cooper Smith inventory and a questionnaire designed to identify the psychosocial factors that favor the onset of alcohol use in adolescents. As results we can say that 88.23 % of the students referred that they had some difficulties when planning their free time. 97.05 % of them expressed that most of their friends like alcoholic drinks. In 73.53 % it was present the difficulty factor to resist the pressure of their group of friends. It was remarkable the macrosocial factor regarding the difficulties in the proper use of the free time. The influence of the group of friends with risk behavior was the microsocial factor especially identified in the sample of study. The personal factor mainly presented was the difficulty to resist the pressure of the group of friends.REFERENCES
