ABSTRACT
Primary cardiac tumours are uncommon in cardiac surgery. They have specific considerations depending on size, histology and site of insertion with a great variety of clinical presentations such as heart failure, thromboembolic events and constitutional signs. Anesthetists must be aware of the potential complications and specifications of this entity as it could lead to a modify of the anesthetic plan. We present a case of a 48 years old woman who was undergone an urgent cardiac surgery due to a giant myxoma causing a mitral valve and ventricular outflow obstruction, which is one of the most feared complications.
