ABSTRACT
Diseases associated with food are increased annually. Food allergy is a clinical reaction caused by a specific immunological mechanism after exposure to a specific food antigen. Because each year reported cases increase, food allergy should be considered a public health problem. In Mexico there are no studies of the prevalence of food allergy and therefore the clinical symptoms associated with food allergies most often aren’t the most common allergens in the country are unknown. They have been described new chemical entities as oral allergy syndrome (ODS), a contact urticaria affecting the oropharyngeal mucosa, the symptoms are restricted to the oral mucosa. We report the case of a female 15-year-old with support ODS hives with carrot.
