ABSTRACT
Introduction: The Ibero-American Network of Nursing Education Research – Region – Brazil was established in 2009 and Brasil became an independent region from 2013.To describe the experience of creating the Ibero-American Network of Nursing Education Research – Region – Brazil as well as to identify the priority themes being studied in the country. Methodology: Accounts of experience.
Results: To constitute the Net-Brazil, leaders of 38 research groups in nursing were identified and invited to participate. Of 268 researchers invited to take part, 74 have become members of Net-Brasil. All of them come from public universities, and 90 % of them have a PhD. Of the priority themes for research in the country, according to the members, are: teaching strategies which are capable of promoting critical and reflexive thinking on undergraduate students and strategies to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Conclusions: This initiative in Brazil represents an increment in researches in Nursing Education through collaborative networks, aiming the improvement of quality in researches, as well as that of nursing education in Brazil and Ibero-America.
