Comprehensive teaching-assistance home visit from the Primary Health Care

ABSTRACT
Introduction: comprehensive teaching-assistance home visit constitutes one of the ways for labor education, which is characterized by the application of clinical method. Its performance from the Primary Health Care is essential to achieve positive health indicators in the community.Objective: to characterize comprehensive teaching-assistance home visit from the Primary Health Care.
Material and methods: a descriptive, cross sectional and analytical research was conducted at Raul Sanchez Rodriguez university polyclinic, Pinar del Río municipality during the first three-month period of 2015. The target group was comprised of 34 professors, 220 medical students and the sample of the study included 17 professors and 90 students of the above mentioned institution. They were randomly selected. Medical ethics was respected.
Results: the professional group consisted of associate professors (11.8%), assistants (17.6%) and instructors (70.6%). Acute respiratory infections predominated in home admissions as well as conditions associated with pregnancy 47.9% and 23.2% respectively, where 97.2% of the sample referred good criteria concerning the comprehensive teaching-assistance home visit.
Conclusions: the effectiveness of comprehensive teaching-assistance home visit as a way of labor education which contributes to a higher quality and satisfaction for professors and students, having a positive impact on the population.
