ABSTRACT
This paper referes to three children with the generic diagnosis of pulmonary stenosis. Their clinical, echocardiographic and histopathologic studies substantiated the diagnosis of hypertrophic myocardiopathy of the right ventricle, with some involvement of the left ventricle. Two of the patients were successfully operated for correction of valvular and subvalvular pulmonary stenosis; one of them died suddenly in his home several months after his operation. The third patient was lost to follow-up. X rays, echocardiograms, electrocardiograms and catheterization data are presented. The literature on the subject is reviewed, which indicates the relative rarity of right ventricular hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
