ABSTRACT
The objetive in this study was to implement a program of specific protection in scholars from six to twelve years at Delegation Milpa Alta with the application of pits and fissures sealants in permanent molars and premolars, prophylaxis, fluoride application and control brushing technique to reduce dental decay. The study type was intervention in the community. A convenience sample of 845 schoolchildren from 11 primary was choosen. The information was captured in the SPSS program version 15 for analysis. After implementing the program for three years at the elementary school, the reduction of dental decay is evident when we compare the results with the control group and the intervention group, the average CPO at six years in the control group was of 1.2 while in the intervention group was of 0.1, at seven years the average of CPO was of 2.2 and 0.5, for eight years was of 2.7 and 0.9 and at nine years was 3.4 and 1.2 respectively. The implementation of programs to reduce dental decay with these features demonstrates the benefits and the positive impact of protection. The results of this study will enable us to think about the conceptual frameworks that prevail in dentistry where it prioritizes the biological, clinical, individual, healing and disease to other integrals which articulate with the social biology, individual and collective, theory and practice, and thereby meet the expectations of society where the services are targeted to meet the needs of society and not the interests of the privatization of health.REFERENCES
