ABSTRACT
Introduction: the nose is an important aesthetic structure, and surgical repair after surgery in this location is a challenge. One of the options for the reconstructive nasal defects is the nasal dorsum flap. A modification of this flap is the hemi-nasal flap, described by Rigg en 1973.Materials and methods: A patient diagnosed with a 16 × 11 mm primary nodular basal cell carcinoma located in the nasal dorsum is presented. Mohs micrographic surgery was performed and was repaired with a hemi-nasal flap.
Results: images of patients exhibit excellent functional and aesthetic result.
Conclusion: the hemi-nasal flap is a surgical technique of low complexity, as it can be performed under local anesthesia in a single surgical time. Necrosis is very infrequent because of its rich blood supply and the cosmetic result is excellent. This flap is a good option for the reconstruction of defects in the lower half of the nose.
