ABSTRACT
Objectives: To take into consideration the possibility of renovascular hypertension in young patients, as well as the mention that the use of autological saphena vein continues being the graft that less complications has in spite of the coming of new synthetic grafts. Background: The renovascular hypertension generally appears in young patients with negative familiar history of arterial hypertension.
Material and methods: Masculine patient of 19 years old, who presents renovascular hypertension with low answer to medical treatment, was put under surgery using autological saphena vein.
Results: The patient was operated with good evolution in the postoperating period, at present he is under our guidance and in the Cardiology Service.
Conclusions: Suspicion in young patients with risk factors, is to take into account, due to the effect that captopril produces. The surgical warning for these patients is the high incidence of complications. We recommend the aortorenal derivation with autological saphena vein by the low incidence of complications.
