ABSTRACT
Introduction. The chondromyxoid fibroma is a rare benign cartilaginous tumor, and further its partnership with aneurysmal bone cyst.
Case. A 16-year-old, born and from El Tigre, Anzoategui State, who consults in the Emergency Trauma IVSS "Dr. Nouel Hector Joubert", to present increased volume in left heel since age 9, painless, with gradual increase of the lesion. Laboratory tests were normal. She underwent lateral radiograph of left ankle, showing trabecular calcaneus osteolytic lesions in magnetic resonance imaging hyperintense lobulated lesions are evident. In the first incisional biopsy in 2011 the presence of aneurysmal bone cyst is reported. In 2013 excisional biopsy of the lesions was performed and corticoesponjosa heterologous bone graft is placed, the result of the biopsy reported chondromyxoid fibroma. In postoperative controls did not show any complications, with good integration of the bone graft to the month and year, the radiograph of the left calcaneus revealed homogeneous radiopacity without lytic lesions. He is currently asymptomatic; the point of sporting activities without limitation.
Conclusion. Perform differential diagnosis in the presence of aneurysmal bone cyst, which in this case it was a chondromyxoid fibroma. The behavior when a patient should be biopsied, curettage and bone grafting as good postoperative results.
