Instrument for the improvement of the teaching programs of the Comprehensive Odontology discipline in Plan D

ABSTRACT
Background: the possibilities of improvement of the teaching programs of the subjects related with the discipline Comprehensive Odontology in Plan D was the main motivation to carry out the present research work.Objective: to validate the content of an instrument for the improvement of the teaching programs of the discipline Comprehensive Odontology in Plan D.
Methods: it was carried out an essentially qualitative research work, from March 2011 to January 2012 in "General Manuel Cedeño" University Clinic of odontological Specialties from Bayamo. Theoretical methods were used: historical-logical and hypothetical-deductive; and empiric ones: documental analysis, questionnaire and experts' criteria; and mathematical statistical for the absolute frequencies and percentages which allowed the foundation of the obtained results.
Results: the collected information allowed the construction of the proposal valued according to the Moriyama criteria, those that obtained more than 70 % in the category “a lot" in all the properties, the validation of the content of the proposal was considered starting from the indicators: reasonable, justifiable, clearly defined, discrimination of variations and data feasibility.
Conclusions: the designed proposal offers a simple methodological instrument, appropriate to guide the execution of improvement processes that allows to evaluate in a quick and simple way the structural design of the teaching programs of the subjects related with the discipline Comprehensive Odontology in Plan D. It was validated by the experts which considered that the formulation of its variables and indicators match the Moriyama criteria.
