ABSTRACT
Introduction: the University of Medical Sciences has a social mission: the training of future health professionals that demand from teachers a greater didactic effort to achieve the students’ motivation, and therefore, a better assimilation of the contents that favor the conscious personality transformation.Objective: it was performed a research at the Faculty of Medical Sciences "Celia Sanchez" of Manzanillo, Granma, in 2014, with a purpose to create an informatics product for the teaching of Cuban History in the medical career.
Method: theoretical and empirical methods were used, from their results there were selected the topics grouped into three historical moments, and the educational software was designed with this contents to complement the teaching learning process of Cuban History.
Results: the use of a proposed educative software in the teaching of the Cuban History accomplish the four functions of every technological resource: technical, academical, organizational and guiding, which permits university teachers to help their students in a way that they can develop skills such as the communication through technologies and apply these skills to improve the performance of the tasks and information search.
Conclusions: the educational software "HISTORY OF CUBA. DIGITAL COMPENDIUM" is based on the concept of a developing teaching with a historical-cultural approach.
