ABSTRACT
Pregnancy involves a series of physiological changes such as an increased circulating blood volume and mucosal changes secondary to hormonal action. All these processes may determine the onset of epistaxis, which in most cases has a benign resolution. However, in special cases, nosebleeds can become a difficult to control massive bleeding that endangers the life of the mother and baby. There are few reports in the international literature concerning the case, and no established treatment guidelines. We present a case report of a pregnant patient with massive intractable epistaxis.
