ABSTRACT
The Ebola virus causes an acute illness, which is often fatal. The average case fatality rate is around 50%. The current outbreak in west Africa is the largest and the most complex Ebola outbreak since the disperse was first discovered in 1976. On 2014, August 8, the WHO declared this outbreak a public health emergency of international concern. The aim of this paper is to review current concepts related to Ebola virus infection.
