ABSTRACT

We present three patients with acute pulmonary thromboembolism, no less than 25% occlusion of the vascular bed, hemodynamically stable, treated with the fibrinolytic agent streptokinase. Loading dose was 250 000 IU/h and maintenance dose 25 000 IU/h during 18 to 24 h. An angiography was practiced and the hemodynamic parameters were registered pre- and post-treatment. Almost total reperfusion of the affected sites was observed and the hemodynamic alterations secondary to the massive pulmonary embolism were mild.
