A 72-year-old woman with a history of hypertension and hyperlipidemia was admitted to the Emergency Department with abdominal pain, vomiting and a 1-week history of intermittent low-grade fever. Symptoms had increasingly worsened.She reported nausea and vague epigastric pain. She was mildly pyrexial (37.9 °C). On examination, the abdomen was soft, with normal bowel sounds and without contracture or distention.
