ABSTRACT
Individual development depends in a direct way on the nutritional conditions present during gestation and post-natal period. Low or deficient levels in dietary requirements during these critical stages in child development can lead to alterations in the development of the central nervous system, as well as in the formation and constitution of various organs, that may persist up to adulthood.
