ABSTRACT

The goal of this prospective study was to asses the importance of place drainage tube postoperatively, after Arthroscopic Lateral Retinaculum Release. Subjects were 61 patients with patellar compression syndrome. The first group of 30 patients undergoing procedure with drainage tube postoperatively. The second group of 31 patients were managed without drainage tube postoperatively. The surgery was performed with the Metcalf technique. It is suggested that the drainage tube postoperatively is not important, because there was not significant difference between both of the groups at the final results after six month (P › 0.001).
